The Pumpkin Roll recipe

Okay Erin, this is for you!  I want to see you make a beautiful pumpkin roll for my visit on Thursday.  I will bring my camera so that I can post pictures for all to see!   Here's the link to Allrecipes, the pumpkin roll by Stephanie...good luck!  Muah!   http://allrecipes.com/recipe/pumpkin-roll-cake/detail.aspx

My new addiction: Pinterest

This new (fairly new, started in the fall last year) web site has become my newest addiction.  I will definitely talk more about it later...but here is an amazingly fun little project I did with the kiddos for fall.  It only cost a few dollars to make.  But, as we all know, fun times are priceless !  Isn't this a cute little fall tree?

Failure is a necessary part of life

I learn every day from my kids that failing is how we learn/grow.  It's a necessary evil.  So, because I am a terrible baker, but I love to cook, I attempted a pumpkin roll.  I gathered up all of the ingredients, plopped them on the table, and called in my reinforcements (aka, Liam & Leighton ).  The kiddos were super excited to bake with me - mixing, adding, licking!  of course...Leighton was sneaking caramels out of the pantry to snack on...hence, the mouth full of gooey goodness! We followed the directions (the best I know how, when baking), put the cake in the oven and waited.  While we waited, we cranked up Pandora Toddler radio and danced in the kitchen!  Liam played DJ while Leighton and I boogied :-)  For a little boy, who just turned 4, he sure knows how to work the iPad2...it's scary what these kids have access to! The timer went off and we pulled the delicious looking pumpkin cake out of the oven.  Wow, we were impressed! ...
